Safety & Supervision Requirements

Ensuring a safe, structured, and age-appropriate learning environment for all participants at the National Student Drone Competition.

Student Supervision

  • All student participants (Grades 3–12) must attend with a school-affiliated teacher or educator present
  • Students may not compete or participate independently
  • Teachers are responsible for student supervision throughout the event, including competition, awards, and venue exploration

Drone Safety Standards

Rocket Drones is committed to providing a safe, structured, and age-appropriate learning environment:

  • All competitions are conducted using approved Rocket Drones equipment and simulators
  • Flight activities follow strict safety protocols and controlled environments
  • No personal drones are permitted unless explicitly approved by event staff
  • Safety briefings will be provided prior to competition activities

Venue & Facility Safety

  • The event is hosted at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, a professionally managed facility with established safety and security procedures
  • All participants must follow venue rules and staff guidance at all times
  • Designated competition, viewing, and exploration areas will be clearly marked

Conduct & Expectations

  • All attendees are expected to demonstrate respectful, responsible behavior
  • Unsafe conduct, misuse of equipment, or failure to follow instructions may result in removal from activities
  • Rocket Drones staff reserve the right to intervene to maintain a safe and positive experience for all participants

Health & Emergency Preparedness

  • On-site staff and venue personnel will be available throughout the event
  • Emergency procedures will be communicated during check-in
  • Teachers and chaperones should be prepared to manage student medical needs as required
